Greetings from the Nest

I’m glad you decided not to fly by, but to land for a moment.

I’d like to share my thoughts regarding my ‘flock’ and the ‘feathers’ that bind us.

A bird’s flock was once of great importance, the values, experiences and adult members of the flock taught the hatchlings everything they needed to know to face life.

Over the years each new generation of hatchlings that grew to adulthood seemed to push their hatchlings out of the nest earlier and failed to share their knowledge and experiences to protect and prepare the next generation. The lessons and values of the previous generation, slowly being lost in the rush to grow up, leave the nest and venture out on one’s own.

Flocks began to splinter and the sense of community and belonging began to evaporate. Until today, when the values of generations past seem to be lost, cast aside, like molting feathers.

I strive to maintain the values and lessons of my flock in my own nest today. The way I fly, care for and tend to my nest, raise my young and commune with my mate are representative of the lessons of my flock, both positive and negative.

I’d like to share my migration and the lessons of my flock with you, as a study of ‘nest life’ in America today.

I invite anyone who takes a moment to land here to leave chirps and tweets, sharing your thoughts.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’m a 40 something housewife and mother who has been blogging for about 3 years now.
I have profiles on MySpace, Facebook, Hi5, Tagged and have blogspot pages as well as wordpress pages. I started venturing away from the social networking sites because of the constant ‘drama’ that takes place on them and began compartmentalizing my interests and causes into individual blog sites, as a means for me to organize my thoughts and to share my opinions, hoping to get some feedback from others in an effort to learn something new and benefit from different perspectives.
After trying to manage and keep up with all those blogs and sites, I decided to pull together some of my blogs onto this one site, sort of a clearing house of all the things important to me, with the intention of eventually deleting those other blog sites.
So, this is a bit of an experiment.
Welcome to my Nest.
      Thanks for linking to my page. I’m relatively new here too, at least to this site, just having put this together in June. I loved the way you expressed yourself in your blogs and look forward to visiting again. I’ve linked to your page on mine.
      Have a great weekend!
      I look forward to seeing you here again, I’m heading back to your page shortly, will be checking in to see what’s new. I’ve just been fiddling around here myself, not really fully understanding how to do everything. Sort of trial and error.
      Thanks for spending some time here with me.
    Robin,
    As usual, it is good to see your creations and to hear your words. I do hope this becomes a comfortable place for people to meet and grow together through our experiences. I definitely bookmarked this site. *Grin.
    Hugz to you and your family.
      P.C.!!! Glad to see you here.
      I really needed a place to just write what I needed to write. I got tired of MySpace being all about the drama all the time, so competitive and ugly. I needed a way to vent and express myself where I wouldn’t be attacked for doing so and I wouldn’t be chastised for sharing personal stuff. This has been a Godsend. I’m glad you’re here!
      Thank you Vikki. I wanted one place where I could bring together all the blogs and writings that were the most important to me. I hope you’ll come back and visit me here.
    Hi Robin,
    Just wanted you to know we miss you, and I got your messages through others so I’ll check in on you here from time to time now. My blogs will stay at Fab40 but I have noticed you do not need to be a member to view (just to comment) them so I hope you will stop in to see me and all of us there “incognito” too.
      I have been peeking, Melissa. There were a number of people I would have liked to have kept in touch with that I didn’t get to contact, so I have popped in to try to follow along.
      Thanks for coming here. I greatly appreciate it. I miss you guys too. I just had to do what was best for my emotional health. That was the idea behind coming here to wordpress. I guess I’m too sensitive.
      Look forward to hearing from you and keeping in touch. :)
    Howdy, Robin.
    Enjoyed spending some time here. I see I could spend a lot of time here. Let me put on a pot of decaf and I’ll tuck in.
      Thanks so much JBB. I wish you would settle in and enjoy some time here. I’d love to have more of my MySpace friends here. It’s a safer place to be, NO DRAMA!!! I’ve had a lot to say, for a long time, but never really felt comfortable about saying some of it on MySpace, so here I am, collecting my best blogging efforts (IMO) and sharing more about the ‘every day’.
      Love & Hugs oxox
